China Trade Mission yields €2.3m in contracts

Contracts worth almost €2.5 million was a major result of the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzen and Hong Kong, as well as job creation through expansion over the next three years. 

Among the deals announced was Atlantic Bridge's portfolio company Movidius who announced they are opening a new office in Shanghai. The goal of this expansion is to support the increasing demand for Machine Vision capabilities in connected devices such as smart phones, drones and new IoT product categories. 

This was the fourth trade mission to China in four years by Minister Richard Bruton. Last year, 20 jobs and contracts worth just under €5million between Irish and Asian companies were signed during a five-day trade mission to China and Korea.
